SURGICAL INTERVENTIONS IN THE SYMPTOMATIC TREATMENT OF MULTIPLE SYSTEM ATROPHY
Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is an adult-onset, progressive neurodegenerative disorder. MSA presents with cerebellar ataxia, parkinsonism, urogenital dsyfunction and autonomic failure. The symptomatic surgical treatment of MSA can be achieved by interdisciplinary approach with the cooperation of general surgery, ear-nose-throat and urology departments. In this article, the role of surgical interventions in the symptomatic treatment of MSA disease is discussed.
